Bereavement Doula Services
If you have found this page because you are experiencing a pregnancy loss, or have been given a terminal diagnosis for your baby, I am deeply sorry. Please know that you are not alone in how you are feeling, what you are thinking, or what your body is experiencing. It would be an honor to support you as you prepare to both welcome and say goodbye to your precious baby. I am here to walk alongside of you as a parent that has experienced the loss of a child, and also as a professional that has supported many other families in similar shoes.
I am a Certified Birth and Bereavement Doula, which means that I have completed specialized training through Stillbirthday University. I also have ten years of experience, first as a volunteer and then as Director of Family Services, for The Haven Network, a perinatal hospice and bereavement center, in northern Illinois. In my roles with The Haven Network, I supported over 100 families before, during, or immediately following their loss. In 2016, I co-founded Beyond the Rain, a perinatal hospice and bereavement organization, serving Wisconsin. I continue to serve as the Co-Executive Director. I have supported families experiencing loss in every trimester. As a bereavement doula, I will support you and your partner in creating a birth plan, providing physical and emotional support during labor and birth, and providing emotional and practical support following delivery. This may include assistance in creating keepsakes, taking photographs, planning a memorial service, or connecting you with other area support.
